University- My thoughts.

Alrighty! After a call from my dad, I finally made myself to go on here and write something as I have a really exciting new chapter in my life that I need to talk about!

I am officially a student in University College Cork! You seriously don't know how proud that title makes me feel. I haven't been the best student and had my ups and downs when it came to education and exams and points and all that crap but now finally something is going on a straight (finally not wobbly) road.

However before I start talking about what a university experience is really like, I would like to start my story from the very start.

Due to me getting a place in the Cork university, I obviously had to move here (which wasn't really pleasant for my family or my wallet..). The costs of my accommodation is really high and I seriously don't know how my parents are managing with paying for it along with giving me money for buses and food.. But hopefully everything will be alright. I got a place in student accommodation where I have my own apartment that I'm sharing with two other girls :). Before I actually met them I was absolutely terrified that they won't like me or that they will be real bitches who don't care about anything BUT THANKFULLY they are amazing and pleasant to live with. Score!

The apartment is really nice and clean I must say. It also provides WIFI which is a savior to college students. It has a very comfy bed and an amazing shower. The only problem I have with it is that the toiled doesn't flush from time to time. It can be really awkward when you're sharing it with someone but we both just accept it. I wanted to report it to the reception but I have been feeling too awkward about this so it will probably take me a while to do so.. But otherwise, so far it is a pleasure living here. Oh! Just remembered this other thing that is annoying the shit outta me here. Well as it's students accommodation obviously there's parties. I am okay with that. What I'm not okay with is that people are banging off the walls and balconies and screaming their heart out when I'm about to go to sleep and have to wake up at 6 am. Have your party with a closed door to the balcony. All I'm asking for.

Now on the uni topic!
(Tom Milsom playing in the background-perfect).
Well, the first time I went to UCC is to have my orientation and registration. If you don't know what that is it's basically a tour of the college and later on in the day you have to register yourself officially into the college. I went to that absolutelly terrified in fear of making a fool of myself or being alone all the time. However amazing thing happened. A girl came up to me and just asked me if I'm doing the same course as her. Alright, after all I'm not such a freak :) But I followed her everywhere and now we're friends :D Later on that night we went to the pub and I met other cool people.

The registration was absolutely tiring and the whole place was mayhem! They made us do icebreakers which are absolutely awful (for me anyway) and everything was just so long and tiring. When I went home I was happy that I could finally go to bed but when I got home I had 2 hours to get ready to go to the pub. It was a veeeeeery tiring day.

On the first day of uni I had introductory lectures. Basically just talks about my courses and I got to know who my lecturers are. They all seem pretty cool. Nothing major happened that day as it wasn't really a proper college day.

If I don't know people in my class I feel absolutely awful. I don't know why but I feel like everybody is secretly judging me and hating me at the same time which I'm sure is not the case. But I'm just weird and I don't really like being in a room with so many strangers. So far college has been amazing and I love it so much. Obviously I hate to sometimes wake up at 6 but that's what I signed myself up for hehe.

After all, university isn't as terrifying as I made it to be. Today I even met a girl by sitting beside her on a bench while she offered me a polo :) I thought making friends would be way harder.

Can't wait to see what uni has to offer in the future.

Here's part of the quadrangle. Reminds me of Hogwarts.
